Drum bearings support the full weight of the drum and your wet laundry while it spins at up to 1,400 revolutions per minute. Over years of use, water gets past the drum seal, washes out the grease and the bearings begin to rumble. Left too long, they collapse and damage the drum and outer tub.
Catching worn bearings early makes the repair simpler and cheaper. If your machine has started to sound like an aeroplane on the spin, it is time to call us.
Signs you need this repair

- The machine walks across the floor during the spin

Is a bearing replacement worth it?
On most machines, yes. However, some modern machines have a sealed outer tub that cannot be opened, so the whole tub assembly must be replaced. That makes the repair more expensive. We check your model and quote before starting, so you can decide whether to repair or replace.

Drum & Bearing Replacement: frequently asked questions
How do I know if the bearings are worn?
With the machine off and the door open, hold the top of the drum and try to move it up and down. A slight movement is normal, but a clear knock or wobble, plus a roaring spin, points to worn bearings.
Can I keep using the machine with noisy bearings?
We do not recommend it. Worn bearings get worse quickly and can damage the drum, seal and motor, turning an affordable repair into a costly one.
